Artist Detour Update
Hello Art Supporters,
As most of you already know STUDIO 395 is developing an abandon piece of property at 108 Library Street, end of Main St.
We would like to provide a public update for anyone interested in this project.
This is an invitation to join us on:
Friday January 19th
Time: 1pm
Location: 108 Library Street, x Main
We will have some chairs and tables on the property grounds.

Calling all doors, if you are painting a door we need them done by Sept 29th for display at Pins n Pockets
2) Sept 29- Oct 1 Art from the Heart Elsinore Womens Club -
There is still room for artist to show
3) Oct 21/22 Spooky ART Gallery - JDSCA Temecula
We need adult volunteers and artist to keep an eye on the younger folks going through a haunted house
and if you have any Halloween art this will be the place to show it.
4) Oct 29 Dia de los Muertos
We still have room for artist booths and we need volunteers to help with the event.
5) Nov 18 - Dec 24 - STUDIO 395 Holiday Store @ the Outlets.
Available space for Holiday arts/crafts to sell at The Lake Elsinore Outlet Mall
We have negotiated a store front for the Holiday Season, we will need volunteers to sit at the store.

After much thought and discussion, we have determined that STUDIO 395 will NOT be organizing the Dia De Los Muertos Celebration in 2016. There are a number of reasons why but ultimately it comes down to this: we have just recently committed to a larger, long-term project, the ARTist Detour and ARTcademy here in Lake Elsinore and as we consider our needs in terms of human and financial resources needed to kick-off that project successfully over the next 90 days, we recognize that trying to also put on our DOD event might compromise one or the other. That isn't acceptable to us. The Detour project is a large part of the Mission and Vision of STUDIO 395 as it is a means to addressing the long-term needs our culturally underserved community, and it is cornerstone to revitalization of our historic downtown. For those reasons, it must be our priority.
We love the DOD celebration and it is our intention to pick it up again in 2017 but with the Detour location at the end of Main Street across from the City Park as the center of activity for that event. We definitely will feel the loss because we know the community loves the celebration and was well on the way to becoming a signature event for our city. We are still committed to making that happen but we know we need to spend the remainder of 2016 getting the ARTist Detour ready for workshops, art creation and sales and community events. We are very excited about this project and appreciate the City Council's and the National Endowment for the Arts' commitment to our vision to this creative placemaking location.
Thank you for your continued support of STUDIO 395. While this cancellation is a disappointment, more good things are coming!
