VOG - Lakeland Village Community Center Closure Beginning Monday March 16, 2020

Lakeland Village Community Center Closure     March 16, 2020

Lakeland Village on Grand Community Center Teachers and Organization Contacts:

Based on guidance issued by the Department of Public Health for Riverside County for the COVID-19 pandemic, we are closing the Lakeland Village Community Center as of Monday, March 16 through, at least, March 31 to attempt to diminish the risk of transmission in our community.   We expect that we will be issued further guidance towards the end of the month on how to proceed into April.

This is disappointing to us because we take very seriously our role as a gathering spot in our community, but we also realize this is a unique situation and the safety of our patrons, your students and event attendees has to be the priority at this point.

In general, we will be looking at issuing credit of 2 weeks to students and to our renters for March.  We intend to have staff at our center from 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday during this closure so please feel free to call us at 951-471-4407 if you have any questions.  If you require space for a couple of hours this week to meet with your board or are considering something like filming your meeting messages/church services, etc. for distribution to your group, we may be able to give you access to a room to do that.

I attach two documents from Riverside County that detail both their orders and guidance so you can speak to your attendees about the reasoning behind the shutdown.  We are hopeful that everyone is taking appropriate cautions during this timeframe and that we will be back to our regular schedule as of April.  Of course, we will update you as we get more information or if anything changes.

Thank you for your understanding and, again, if you have any questions, please reach out to Lisa or myself at the center during business hours.

Sincerely,
 Rebecca R. Esquibel
